Burg Co!!!

When my sister wanted us to meet up somewhere on the mainland, a picture of Burg Co restaurant surfaced in my head. A friend went there earlier this year and liked it. She warned about the price though.

When I learnt about Burg Co, I envisioned it to be a place I would catch up with someone and chill.  There are spaces I have attached particular activities to. Do you do the same?

I won’t say I am a huge fan of burger but I can deal with it, I did not go to Burg Co because it was primarily a burger joint. I went majorly because we wanted to meet somewhere on the mainland that was not the mall (😑), somewhere we could eat that was aesthetically pleasing.

Burg Co as the name implies, is primarily a burger joint where you can also get fries, milkshake, and various items on the breakfast menu. There is a bar at the back of the main area. It is located at 11B Isaac John St, Ikeja, Lagos.

Opening Hours

I read quite a number of reviews about Burg, it was compared to Shake Shack (which I had to google), it was applauded for the aesthetics but questions were asked about the price. As usual, I googled the menu, planned what I was going to eat before going there. My roommate suggested their Suya OG which I tried.

We placed our order here, then proceeded to the outdoor area (Burg Bar) where we had our burger and most of our pictures.

The food

We both had Suya OG which cost  ₦2,500 each, my sister had the Oreos (Nutella) shake which was  ₦2,500. I was so tempted to try the Oreo-Nut (ella) shake but I am actively staying away from diary or diary products. I already had cheese in my burger,that was enough for the month. The other non-diary drink they had was too ridiculous for my pocket, I skipped it.

The burger tasted juicy, the burger bun was so soft, it reminded me of my favourite soft agege bread. I liked the taste of the suya. I must say that we both liked the burger, it was small though but sweet. My sister loved her Oreo shake.

Our order took about 30 minutes before we were alerted to come for it.

Concerning their customer service, ‘great’ won’t cross my mind when I think about it, I would say, they were ‘alright’.

I liked the white theme at the bar area, plant and wooden vibe that the outdoor/ Burg bar exuded.

Things I liked about Burg

• Burg is on the Mainland. It can be a struggle finding somewhere to go on the mainland because it seems like every aesthetically pleasing place is located on the Island.
• The aesthetics:  The main area had a wooden thing going on, the white theme outdoor was enchanting. I am obsessed with white theme. I think the space was the highlight of the place (rhymes 🎤)
• The plants: i’m yet to be a plant mom but I loved it.
• The Burg bar area

However, I wish there were more options on the menu. I get it that it is a burger joint but still… Also, more options on the drink menu.

In summary, Burg is a beautiful space to catch up with a friend, relax in the cool ambience and just chill. The outdoor area (Burg Bar) is a beautiful place to take pictures too.

Would I go back to Burg Co restaurant?

I liked the space, and the burger bun was so soft but to be honest, it is quite pricey, even though the food was good, i’m not ecstatic about going again but I would.
