My trip to Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park was unplanned, random, spontaneous and last minute (I know they all mean the same thing, I’m just trying to emphasize on how unexpected it happened). Prior to my visit there, I was unaware that Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park existed.
Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park is located in Governor’s Road, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria and was commissioned by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. It is owned by Lagos Government (LASPARK) who is committed to providing and maintaining functional parks, gardens and recreational centres. According to their website, it opens 7am and closes 7pm, Monday through Sunday.
The are so many things to know about Johnson Jakande Tinubu park and do in the park:

You can meet up with friends, hold discussions there and have a good time. I even saw a group of people playing the guitar at one end. There are huts to relax too.

I liked Johnson Jakande Tinubu park, it was relaxing and beautiful and it is on the Mainland. I hope to make a post of places to have fun/visit on the mainland soon. Till then, you can follow me on Instagram, I’ll share places I visit on my story. I had some concerns about the place like if the park would be a available for use when events are being hosted there and also if the ‘no laptop’ thing was true. However, I was unable to communicate these concerns to any officials that day because I went there for work and was knackered.
In conclusion, in Johnson Jakande Tinubu park there is a lot of freshness and greenery, it is a good spot to escape the aggression , impatience and hustling nature of Lagos, gradually exhaling the stale air of Lagos to inhale and relax in the freshness nature freely gives.
