A POET by Uzoeto Elochukwu
January 21, 2017

Dear Eyimofe,

This is what I want. I have always found it demeaning to address you as ‘Mofe’. It is an iota of the beauty of your name. ‘Eyimofe’ denotes a whole new meaning , unique just like the Poet himself.

I will start writing something for you, then I stop. What if it seems shoddy to you? To say you are a great writer is like saying the sky is blue (Just because you are a Chelsea fan), It is apparent by your poetic nature. You have really grown allowing your pen to dance to your emotions and imaginations.

Happy Birthday Eyimofe

God’s beloved! My love! You have been supportive and encouraging in every possible way. You pushed me to never stop pressing my doggedness button. Thank you for the love, support, care and everything. Thank you for the energy you put into making us work.

Eyimofe! A name I will love to give my fruit. A reminder of an African man who wouldn’t allow his thoughts rest but put them into writing. A reminder of a dark skinned beauty whose beautiful dentition brightens it’s surrounding.

You will go on to be a great writer, Poet with countless bestsellers, facilitating seminars, workshops, receiving awards and clinching the Nobel prize in literature. Are dreams too big? No, God’s working through Eyimofe. Yes, he got this covered. This and more I pray for you.

Happy birthday Eyimofe of The best is very close.

The most beautiful of men are those who make others laugh, because laughter leaves you with a lingering happiness, like a recalcitrant meat slice stuck between teeth. Thank you for making me laugh, thank you for filling me with happiness. Eyimofe.
